Dan's thought of the week

NEWS

  • Web Consent

The Club website is currently being updated and there are plans to include player profiles and photos from matches and tournaments, where possible. In order to comply with current legislation and to ensure safety of all the players, we are asking  parents of U18s to complete the attached consent form, to allow photographs to be taken and subsequently to be included in the Capitals website.

Thank you for your co-operation

Karen Welsh

  • Eric's 50th

Eric, our long suffering 18s and 21s coach , reached the grand age of 50 this week.

He was presented with a first aid kit for the over 50s which contained, amongst other things Strepsils for his sore throat, from all his shouting at the 18s and 21s!

The small blue tablets labelled Viagra apparently didn't work, which was just as well being as they were M & M s!

Hope the corn pads and the Steradent were more useful!

  • Coaching Courses:

E mail from Pat Jagus - Carmarthen Cougars

We started enquiring about coaching courses in Wales for our club to meet the Government's new requirements for sports coaches and have ended up arranging for EIHA to provide one (Level 1). Originally they had offered to put one on in Lampeter, but having had enquiries from other clubs as well we have moved the venue to Swansea.

We have sufficient attendees to meet the minimum requirement, but the EIHA will accommodate more. The course is set for the weekend of 27th & 28th of October in PYH and it would be daft not to offer other clubs an opportunity to send their potential coaches as well (rather than travelling to Bracknell, Milton Keynes or Sheffield for a course).

Start time for both Sat and Sunday would be 9:30. Finish for Sat would be approx 17:30 and on Sunday 15:30.

If you know of anyone in your clubs who would be interested, pass on the info and ask them to contact myself with name, address, date of birth, telephone number and email address to register. EIHA require a fee of £75 per person for the course (cheques payable to 'Carmarthen Cougars' as we need to pay for the venue out of this and forward the balance to EIHA).

If you have coaches/potential coaches who are interested please come back to me quickly as available places are limited.
